Match Report

This was our postponed Round 4 game due to the Palmerston field being deemed unfit and unsafe by 2 referees and 1 CF official. 

Despite the freezing cold and fog, our team started strong & remained that way for the entire game.  Our tactics settled better in the last 20 minutes of the first half but remained positive & showed we were the better team.

1 goal was scored by Micah Purdy which was a cracker of a penalty just outside the 18 yard box. It should have been 2 goals though as one was disallowed, 1 of .  1 was a comical own goal, and the other 2 were scored by our resident top scorer, Russ Gibbs which puts his season tally at 6.  Even though there were 4 or 5 missed opportunities, we capitalised on some great shots.

The full time whislte was getting closer, we were all ready to go home and get out of the cold, there was around 20 minutes left and our illustrious keeper received a red card for a dangerous 10 metre slide tackle (thanks to the icy grass). 

All in all, a great win which puts Div5 in 2nd place on goal difference.
