2010 Adam Fry Memorial - Season Launch

27th March, 2010

Epilepsy ACT was again the winner in Tuggeranong United's annual Adam Fry Memorial Season Launch. As one of the largest football clubs in the Mens League, club members again showed their generosity, raising well over $2000 for the charity, which will be used to help sufferers of epilepsy and their families. The event is named after Adam Fry, a former player for Tuggeranong United who tragically passed away in 2004 as a result of an epileptic fit. The Memorial Shield has been contested since 2005 in a variety of formats, with the current format in its second year.

The event involved all TUFC's Senior teams competing in a round robin tournament, with teams receiving weightings according to their ranking. The teams stretched from Premier League to Division 10 and Masters. After an early charge from Division 10, and strong performances from Premier Pathways, the final was held between Jake Padrotta's Division 5 and Danny Parker's newcomers Division 4. Tyson Littlewood scored the winner for Division 5 in the dying seconds, and captain Matt Colbran accepted the Shield from Adam's parents Richard and Rhonda Fry.

Tuggeranong United will field 14 men's teams this season, including in the ACT Gatorade Premier League, and has around 230 men's players. Tuggeranong United also has over 900 Junior and 100 Women players.
